5 ways to get rid of bumpy skin

Tiny bumps on skin can be milia or keratosis pilaris which are caused by blockage of pores due to oil and dirt. When skin gets exposed in sun it causes sun rashes and skin redness whereas using wrong skincare product may lead to allergies and causes acne like bumps. These bumps can be treated at home, but if the condition is worst then you must consult a dermatologist. Below are some ways to get rid of these tiny bumps:

1.Cleansing

Dirt and oil can clog pores and causes tiny bumps and acne. Using a mild alcohol free face wash helps to gently cleanse your pores. Avoid harsh chemical infused cleansers as it will make skin condition worst. Use cleansers according to your skin type or suggested by your dermatologist. Use cleansers that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid as it unclog pores and prevent further breakouts.

2.Steaming

Steaming has many benefits for your skin as it open up clogged pores making it easier to clean dirt and oil which ultimately reduces tiny bumps. You can use a steamer if you have one otherwise just soak a clean cloth in warm water and gently apply on your face. This will open up pores and removes debris, blackhead or any impurities. Make sure to do this steaming process only for 5-10 minute as overdoing it may cause skin dryness which leads to moisture loss from skin. Do not use anything on your face for at least 10 minutes after steam. let your skin cool down first naturally.

3.Exfoliation

Dead skin and oil clogged pores and build up tiny bumps. Exfoliating helps to remove these bumps and allows pores to breath. Avoid harsh rough scrubbers as it worsen the skin instead use gentle exfoliators that contains AHAs, BHAs or salicylic acid as it gently removes dead skin without disturbing skin’s pH balance. Avoid stepping out or use sunscreen as your skin may become sensitive after exfoliation.

4.Moisturizer

Dry dehydrated skin may also cause tiny bumps or skin rashes on skin. Moisturizer acts as a skin barrier and locks skin moisture that contribute to appearance of skin. Non-comedogenic [that do not clog pores] moisturizer are best for bumpy acne prone skin as it reduces the formation of acne and blemishes.

5.DIYs

Go for DIYs to get rid of tiny bumps. Apply honey all over your face and rinse after 15 minutes with lukewarm water. Also you can mix 1 tbsp. of aloe vera gel with 2-3 drops of tea tree oil, then apply it on affected area and rinse with water after 15 minutes. These DIYs will soothe skin and improve overall skin texture.
